Flood happens 💩

But there's a whole verse out there

Yup, our house got flooded.

In the middle of the night.

Woke up at midnight to find several rooms masquerading as paddling pools and water gushing out of the bathroom.

Mopping up with towels and wringing them out into buckets at 1am ain’t fun, I can tell you that much.

The moral of the story is: check those flexible hoses under your sinks. Those suckers cause 80% of house flooding events.

The other moral of the story is that the ordeal has set my progress back.

I was (albeit optimistically) looking at July to launch the Kickstarter for A Phantom in the Forge. That ain’t gonna happen.

My new target date is October 1st.

I’m on the cusp of finishing the 4th draft (rewriting the epilogue, in fact). This is the last draft where I’ll make structural changes. Unless I find a plot hole at the eleventh hour, of course!

From there, it’ll be polish, polish, polish until it’s done. That’s the shoe sort, not the sausage sort.

In my next newsletter, I’ll have less grim news. Mainly, a cover reveal! That, and I’ll be opening up to ARC applications for a brand new novel.

Regular readers of this newsletter will know the book I’m talking about. For the rest of you, all shall be revealed soon…

Jeez, what a tease 😈
